Dolly Varden / Magnolia Summer joint 2011 UK tour

Undertow Music is pleased to announce that starting February 12, 2011, Dolly Varden and Magnolia Summer will embark on a duo dual headlining acoustic tour through the United Kingdom.

Dolly Varden founders, husband and wife singer/songwriters, Steve Dawson and Diane Christiansen will be performing through the UK as a duo. Over the past decade, the Chicago-based group released 5 records and successfully toured Great Britain, The Netherlands, and the US and the UK. Their return to the United Kingdom commemorates the 10th anniversary of their eponymous record, The Dumbest Magnets.

The UK tour will also help support, Steve Dawson‘s second solo record, I Will Miss The Trumpets and the Drums (2010).

St. Louis’ Magnolia Summer will be touring to support both 2009’s Lines From The Frame and two 2010 digital EPs, The Current Moves and The Slip That Leads Into The Fall. It will be the bands’ first tour to the UK.

For the tour, Magnolia Summer will be traveling as a duo. Singer-songwriter Chris Grabau and guitarist John Horton (also of the band, The Bottle Rockets) will be representing the band.

In addition to the schedule of dates, Magnolia Summer will be guest on Bob Harris’ BBC2 radio program on February 15, 2011. In 2009, Bob Harris showed appreciation for the band by playing tracks from the Lines record on his BBC2 radio programs.

Joining the bands on part of the tour is Edinburgh‘s Wyntownn Marshals who will be on tour to support the release of their excellent debut record, Westerner.
